Richard Banfield

Richard is an experienced entrepreneur with a strong background in business development and early stage marketing roles. He is currently the CEO of Fresh Tilled Soil, a premier web design and development company based in Boston. He is also a founding partner of R3 Partners, which develops niche web products for small businesses. R3’s products include Referral Monitor and You Should Meet.
Prior to founding the Startup Business School and Fresh Tilled Soil Richard was involved in building and launching several technology and web based businesses. Most recently he was a partner at UDesignWePrint, an online consumer focused print site, and was responsible for all business development, marketing and design of the company’s web application.

Richard’s entrepreneurial experience includes being a founding partner at the Ignition Technologies, a web applications developer, where he was responsible for business development and marketing. He started his business career as a Sales Manager of South Africa's first online sales company, Oracle Online Sales. He left Oracle Online to create the international e-marketing business, Acceleration Media, with offices in New York, London, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Richard was also VP of Website Channel for Boston based WinWin Technologies where he managed business development teams in several countries. Richard has a Bachelor of Science from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Tia Carr-Williams

Tia is an experienced online entrepreneur with several collaborative portals in beta. Before embarking on an entrepreneurial career Tia spent twenty five years in recruitment and personnel and ran her own therapy centre in Bath, UK for several years prior to emigrating to the USA. Her professional background and training led to her becoming a Business Behavior strategist designing educational programs for organizational change and is a highly qualified Coach, currently mentoring other early stage CEO’s.

Tia’s first online business forays resulted in www.amodus.org.uk , a think tank for collaborative experts. Further additions are www.TheWorldBusinessCafe.com which is formulating a global project space for consultants and www.TheFairway.org  for executive golfing communities. Tia is the VP of Corporate Relations on two exciting businesses, www.TycoonSystems.com , the creators of www.IndustryPlayer.com  a sophisticated MMOG Business Simulation Game, enjoying worldwide uptake and success and an international cross discipline consortium of creative directors and developers, called www.LXXPortfolio.com.

Alex Fedorov

Alex Fedorov is an entrepreneur and web designer with nearly 10 years of experience. Raised in southwestern Connecticut, Alex relocated to Northeastern University in Boston to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Sciences with a concentration in Graphic Design and minors in Art History and Photography.

Alex’s work experience includes a wide array of web design & development roles including Lead Designer at 1998 startup TelekomNet, Web Designer for Cheers Boston, Creative Director for Entertainment Image Consultants and Marketing Director/Coordinator for Coldwell Banker agents in Boston.

Currently, Alex is the Lead Designer and one of the founding partners of Boston-based web design and development firm, Fresh Tilled Soil. He also works as a designer and partner of R-3 Partners designing simple web-based products for small businesses.

Alex is well educated and experienced in the art of website design and development. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge with regards to producing cleanly designed sites with visual appeal and clear usability. Alex draws from extensive experience with past projects for small and large clients alike, and prides himself in interpreting and understanding design problems from the user’s point of view.
